Construction Updates (2026-27)
We are excited to share information about our ongoing facility updates and construction at Naperville North High School. This project includes creating an addition, updating ADA compliance in the entryway and lobby area, and addressing load-bearing structural and acoustic issues impacting operations, building safety, and maintenance.
These facility upgrades and fiscal policies are significant because they directly impact the district's long-term operational health, educational environment, and financial stability.
Project Overview
- Reason for addition:
- Ensuring and maintaining ADA compliance with an accessible entrance
- Addressing known issues, both structural and acoustic, that currently impact operations, building safety, and maintenance
- Improve, repurpose, and increase instructional spaces

Impact on the Community
- Noise level:
- Will vary depending on the scheduled activity
- Influence on Ogden Ave and Mill St traffic:
- Mill: minimal impact on traffic
- Ogden: Entry/exit to Naperville North campus may be interrupted intermittently.
- Places that will be unavailable:
- The road on the west side of campus, between the construction area and the stadium, may close intermittently. The goal is to keep this road open during peak traffic times, including school arrival and dismissal.
- The West entrance to Naperville North will be closed throughout the duration of the construction project. The Athletics Entrance will be Door 15, and the Student Entrance will be Door 8.
- Any other disruptions to access are shared with Building Administration and will be communicated as needed.
Benefits of the Project
- The additional space created will reduce the need to close down student spaces, such as the Learning Commons, Postsecondary Advising & Resource Center, IT Office, and other regularly used spaces to accommodate for testing.
- A dedicated additional practice space for an activity program.
- Additional classroom and meeting space.
- Increased space to accommodate student requests to hold the Strength and Performance course during all class periods.
- A new weight room facility that can accommodate multiple teams at once.
- A cardio space that can accommodate student needs throughout all class periods.
